Linus and his friend CB have been experimenting with jokes lately, and doing pretty well. The other morning Ada had a go:

A: “Knock knock! Who’s there? Donkey! Donkey who? Alligator, snap snap!”

She”ll get the hang of it eventually, I’m sure

In the car, Linus and I were discussing what a “teenager” is. Linus turned to Ada:

L: “Ada, when you’re a teenager…”

A (angry and emphatic): “Li-NUS! I’m not going to be a TEENAGER! I’m going to be a ZOOKEEPER!”

About a year ago, I was fairly sure – based on symptoms like nausea and fatigue – that I was pregnant. The test was negative, but showed a VERY faint positive after a while, so I went to the doctor a week later to get another test. Also negative. And I felt pretty stupid.

No symptoms this time… just a period 10 days late. I took the test today, and I’m 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. “Buzz” is due on 4th May 2012, the day before my birthday.

This baby has taken a LOT of time to come around. The gap between Linus and Ada is 22 months; the gap between Ada and Zoe is 20 months; the gap between Zoe and Buzz will be 32-33 months!

Current plans are that this will be our last baby. I don’t know if either of us would mind having more, but our house and car really put a practical limit on it.

We’re happy and excited and looking forward to spending the next 7 months arguing over names
