Bub = 1 year 23 days What was Linus up to at this age?

Last year’s Christmas was an unusual one for our family because Ada and I were only discharged from hospital at 11am, and given the nature of our stay in hospital, we weren’t able to be certain until the last moment whether we would make it out that day at all.

This year we did what has become almost routine now: we stayed in Mosgiel with Granny and Pop-pop on Christmas Eve, had an “everyday” breakfast there and unwrapped presents on Christmas morning, then went out for our first big Christmas meal, a buffet at a local pub. (Granny was the star of the meal – she performed the Heimlich manoeuvre on a woman who was choking at a nearby table!)

After lunch we left Mosgiel – since Granny had to go to work anyway – and returned home so that I could make a roast for my side of our family. Nana, Gaga, Claire, and Kyle joined us for the afternoon and evening for more opening of presents, more eating, and some game-playing.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and Linus is really getting into the swing of both giving and receiving presents.
