Age = 1 year 2 months 12 days

Linus has had shaggy wings for a while now, or rather long bits of blond hair behind his ears that half the time stick out in odd directions. I started deciding a couple of weeks ago that, now my baby has reached so many other milestones of being a “boy” or “toddler” rather than a “baby”, it was time to get him a haircut. As the subsequent two weeks went by, my tentative decision firmed up as the wings annoyed me more and more.

My friend ER did the honours on Thursday, and it went OK. It wasn’t great – Linus squirmed on my lap the whole time, and I was in awe of how calmly ER cut the hair, without even a nick in my son’s scalp! But the final result was just what I wanted – nothing dramatic, but less “shag” and just tidier in general.
